LEYTONSTONE LOVES FILM
WunderKammer Live is a showcase and networking event for anyone who creates and cares about alternative screen culture in London. Five exciting cinema practitioners will each talk about how they are hacking the big screen experience to make moving pictures matter again. Talks include*:
So Mayer (Club des Femmes) on Lesbian Camp
Isra Al Kassi (T A P E Collective) on projecting the mixed heritage experience
Jonathan Ali & Lisa Harewood (The Twelve30 Collective) on spearheading the British theatrical release of No Place Like Home
Sarah Kathryn Cleaver (Zodiac Film Club) on curating a screen culture community dedicated to complex female characters
The evening will also include an open mic networking session (sign up at the event to kickstart future collaborations) and a surprise feature film to end (Cert 18 / Strictly for adults only). The first 40 arrivals will get a free copy of Radiant Circus ’new zine about emergency screen culture created during the shutdown, crisis?
Join us if you love movies beyond the mainstream, promote your own screen events, or create screen-related content (from podcasts and zines to street art and Josephine Baker tattoos…).
[*Final programme subject to change.]
